During the 1930s the now long gone Rio Grande Southern built a number of these contraptions affectionately and collectively known as “The Galloping Geese”. I think that there were 10 originally built of which 9 are still around. Several of these will visit the Cumbres and Toltec and waddle over the 64 mile railroad from time to time. So Goose 5 was parked in the yard in Chama, all alone so decided to do a little night work and this is the result. Without the crowds and pressure of an official night shoot, one can really work the material and play with the lighting. Nikon D750, 2″ @ f/13, three 360W portable strobes, 400iso, 55mm.
